Papà, sei il mio eroe - Dad, you are my hero!

Sarà che avevo ancora sulla scrivania il set Tiny Heroes di Mama Elephant che avevo usato per la card dell'8 marzo, ma quando ho pensato a una card per la festa del papà mi è sembrato perfetto. A dire il vero mi sono stupita di non averlo usato prima per lo stesso motivo, mah...

Così ho usato come tema centrale della card il maschietto del set e ho creato una combinazione di colori davvero primaria: rosso, blu, bianco e un tocco di giallo...degna di un supereroe! Ho timbrato il soggetto con inchiostro Memento su carta Neenah Solar White e ho colorato con i pennarelli Copic. Ho scelto il sentiment che mi sembrava più adatto e l'ho timbrato in rosso, aggiungendo poi in alto le lettere della scritta DAD sempre in cartoncino rosso, usando l'alfabeto Journaling Alpha di Neat and Tangled.

Ho scelto una card quadrata con una doppia mattatura, per richiamare i colori del nostro eroe. Adesso non mi resta che organizzare la consegna! Buona festa a tutti i nostri eroi...
 

When I started thinking about a card for Father's Day I still had on my desk the Mama Elephant Tiny Heroes stamp set used for March 8th. Watching at it, I thought it was the perfect stamp for a Dad hero card and I was really surprised not to have thought about it before...so I stamped the little hero with Memento ink and colored it with Copic markers in very basic colors: blue, red, white and a bit of yellow. I stamped the sentiment in red, then I mounted it on a square card. Now I just have to deliver it! Happy Father's Day to all our heroes...
 

Lunch notes Week 11

Quando sono fortunata mi capita di trovare in offerta qualche set che avevo visto e a cui avevo rinunciato per forza di cose. Si dice che non si possa avere tutto...ma se i set di timbri sono legati a una stagione in particolare e abbiamo la pazienza di aspettare un po', possiamo incappare in qualche occasione davvero irrinunciabile.

Con il set Cookie Time di Waffle Flower è andata proprio così...uscito per il Natale 2018, bellissimo, batticuore appena visto, ma ci avevo rinunciato. Subito dopo le feste sono arrivati gli sconti e io sono stata felicissima, anche perché a dirla proprio tutto, non è che siano poi così legati al Natale.

E infatti io li ho usati per queste lunch notes colorate con le Prismacolor...trovo adorabili i bambini che aiutano a preparare i dolci e la mamma ha un'espressione davvero simpatica. Si prestano a creare scene e ambientazioni, ma sono carinissimi anche così, da soli, a raccontare la loro piccola storia. Credo che inizi con "C'era una volta una merenda...".


Sometimes I am patient enough to wait for some discount to arrive on the stamp set I like. So was with the Waffle Flower Cookie Time stamp set, relalized for Christmas 2018 collection. After a month or so on I got it with a big discount and I am very happy because I think this is not so Christmas themed as other stamp sets. I decided to use it for this week lunch notes, colored with Prismacolor pencils. Now it's time to let them tell their story, I think it starts with "Onche upon a time, there was a lunch..."

Forrest Gump card

E' difficile spiegare cosa sia per me Forrest Gump. E' un film geniale, un capolavoro, una favola racchiusa nella storia di un cuore puro che attraversa qualche decennio di storia americana. Per me è come una colonna sonora, un'ispirazione, un modo di interpretare la vita e il mondo che mi circonda. Le frasi di questo film mi tornano in mente spesso, in diverse occasioni, sono scolpite nel mio cuore.
Era da un po' di tempo che avrei voluto realizzare un progetto legato a questo film, e per questo  e nel mio immaginariomotivo avevo acquistato un paio di set di timbri che mi sembravano adatti. Quando poi il blog di Lawn Fawnatics ha presentato la challenge in corso, dedicata a film, libri o canzoni, non ho avuto dubbi e ho colto l'occasione per realizzare questa card che avrei voluto fare da tempo.

Sono partita da un pannello bianco su cui ho timbrato in nero una delle frasi culto del film, composta su due righe con l'alfabero Milo'sABCs di Lawn Fawn. Poi ho timbrato in marrone la panchina del set Winter in the Park e infine ho aggiunto in rosso il sentiment del set Dream, il tutto di Lawn Fawn.

E infine la piuma, che accompagna Forrest Gump e la sua leggerezza per tutto il film: l'ho presa sempre dal set Dream, l'ho timbrata in grigio e le ho dato un colpo di colore con i Copic e poi l'ho fustellata e l'ho applicata nella parte alta della card con del biadesivo spessorato.
Per completare la card ho montato il pannello bianco su una base rossa.
E non ho altro da dire su questa faccenda.


I can say I adore Forrest Gump. It is not only a wonderful movie to me, but it's a way of living and loving, it represent my way to look at the world. Every time I have to face something in my life I have a Forrest Gump quote coming on my mind...I can say it is my inspiration. So when Lawn Fawnatics announced the new challenge inspired by a book, a song or a movie, I had no doubt at all and decided to create this card. I used all Lawn Fawn stamps and dies to compose it. The main sentiment is stamped with Milo's ABCs, while the bench is from Winter in the Park. The feather stamped in grey and the sentiment dream stamped in red are both from Dream set. To finish the card I mounted the main White panel on a red card base. Can I say I love it? I really hope you like it too!

Lunch notes Week 10

Delle lunch notes tutte dedicate ai porcellini, e che porcellini...ma non sono adorabili i maialini del set Hog Heaven di My Favorite Things? Ti fanno venire voglia di strapazzarli di coccole! Avevo questo set inutilizzato da un sacco di tempo, non che non avessi idee su come usarlo, ma rimandavo spesso e così alla fine l'ho inaugurato con le lunch notes.

Come dicevo all'inizio di questa avventura creativa, le lunch notes sono un modo per usare i set di timbri che abbiamo accantonato perchè usati molto oppure che lasciamo in un angolo ad aspettare di avere il tempo di realizzare un progetto abbastanza accattivante.

Sono semplici e veloci, almeno per come le concepisco io, ovvero delle mini card con un soggetto principale e a volte un sentiment, semplicemente timbrati e colorati a matita (nel mio caso le Prismacolor), senza troppe tecniche o fronzoli. Soprattutto considerando che vanno nel porta merenda del Killer, che non le tratterà con particolare cura!

Questa settimana mi sono divertita ad aggiungere alcuni dettagli di sfondo, come i raggi di sole, i cuoricini o i pois color lavanda...diciamo che diventa un modo per rilassarsi, tanto per prolungare ancora un attimo la mia pausa creativa!

 

This week I used My Favorite Things Hog Heaven stamp set to decorate my lunch notes. These little piglets are really adorable and I had so much fun coloring them with my Prismacolor pencils...I also addes some background freehand images, like the hearts or the clouds...I think lunch notes are a very good way to use your stamps more, even the ones you forget about or the ones you are waiting to use in order to create a special project! I always try to create them in a simple way, so they are fast to stamp and color with pencils, especially beacause my son won't treat them very carefully in his lunch bag...

Lunch notes Week 9

Era inevitabile...doveva succedere...sarà impossibile che io riesca a fare le lunch notes proprio per tutte le settimane di scuola, ma cercherò di essere il più costante possibile. La settimana 8 è saltata e quella appena passata è stata una settimana altrettanto pesante. Diciamo che è partita decisamente in salita con qualche malessere in famiglia ed è continuata tra mille impegni e corse a più non posso, peggio del solito insomma.

Queste lunch notes sono state una corsa contro il tempo, tra le decine di altre cose di ogni giorno...
per realizzarle ho rispolverato un vecchio set di Lawn Fawn, Critters on the Farm. E' bello vedere come i timbri delle diverse marche si siano evoluti negli anni, mantenendo allo stesso tempo la loro caratterizzazione...restano simpatici e allegri, li riconosci subito, anche se i disegni sono molto più semplici di quelli di oggi.

Per le mie lunch notes ho timbrato con Versafine nero tutti i personaggi del set e ho abbinato un piccolo sentiment tra quelli presenti, per colorare poi con le matite Prismacolor. Ho cercato anche di aggiungere qualche tocco a mano libera, come i prati, il sole o le nuvole...non so se siano esattamente come mi piacevano, ma ormai erano lì! Hanno fatto il loro dovere anche questa settimana, speriamo solo che le prossime siano meno caotiche, anche se inizio a dubitare che questo possa succedere...
 

My week number 8 was very hard and busy and so was week number 9. I didn't get to make lunch notes for week 8, but I made the ones for week 9 using an old Lawn Fawn set: Critters on the Farm! How nice is to see how stamps style is changing during the years, but still so recognizable. I used the critters to create the notes stamping them with Versafine black ink and coloring them with Prismacolor pencils. I added my touch by creating the grass and some other details, like the sun or the clouds. I can't tell if I like my details, anyway the notes made their job in the lunch box and I really hope my weeks to come will be a little less chaotic!
